Components of a Roots Blower
The Roots blower is a common centrifugal blower that consists of the following components:
- Body: usually made of cast iron or steel plate welded, with good rigidity and sealing performance.
- Impeller: It consists of two mutually engaging impellers with several small blades mounted on the impeller. When the impeller rotates, air is drawn in and compressed.
- Main shaft: the shaft connecting the two impellers, usually made of high-strength alloy steel.
- Driving device: usually adopts electric motor or internal combustion engine, etc. to drive the main shaft of Roots blower to rotate.
- Inlet and outlet ports: The inlet port is used to draw in air and the outlet port is used to discharge the compressed air.
- Oil tank: Used to store lubricating oil to ensure the lubrication of gears and bearings.
- Control system: It is used to control the operation of the Roots blower, such as start/stop, rotating speed, inlet/outlet valve and so on.
